Here are a few of the amazing pictures Jen took of Rilee @ 4 days old. Everything is going great. We are trying to adjust to having a new one around and not getting as much sleep as we would like, but we wouldn't change it for the world. Carson is adapting really well. He is very gentle with her and loves to give her kisses and help me get things ready for her when we have to go somewhere or bathe her. She has however received her first battle wound from him. It was a pure accident but heartbreaking. He was driving his toy truck on the bed while I was changing her diaper, when he spun around real fast the truck hit Rilee right in the face. He didn't know what to think and didn't come around her for the rest of the day. Its crazy to think she is almost a week old. Hope you enjoy the pictures.

Rilee Rae Cole
Our beautiful baby girl arrived yesterday March 19th, 2010. She was 8 lbs 5.8 ounces and 20 1/2 inches long. It all happened so fast its hard to grasp the whole process but I will try to give you all an idea of how she entered the world. It started out on Thursday when Jen (my sister) made me take Castor oil with her so it would put me into labor (4:00 p.m.). We assumed it would work since it worked with Carson. It was about 12:00 a.m. when it finally hit me and my stomach was starting to contract. It was weird contractions though almost like 2 separate ones going on at the same time. I finally woke Brison up at 1:30 and had him call my midwife to see what she thought. Since I wasnt able to feel Rilee moving she wanted me to go in and get checked just to make sure she was ok. When I got there I was only 1 cm dilated so the nurse had me walk for an hour and then get checked again. I had progressed to 3 cm. They decided to keep us instead of letting us go home. For the longest stretch of the morning my contractions disappeared and I wasnt dilating anymore so they gave me a pill to thin my cervix in hopes it would jump start my contractions and oh boy did it. They were coming back to back and pretty strong. It wasnt long before the pill wore off and the contractions stopped again so they decided to start me on pitocin. The next time I got checked I was 5 cm and Anita believed Rilee was sunny side up so they wanted to try and get me on my side to see if she would flip. When they placed me on my side the doppler that reads her heartbeat wasnt able to pick her heartbeat up so the were going to stick a probe in her head to read it better. By the time they got me on my side and tried to stick the probe in I felt a whole lot of pressure and she said your a 10 now and ready to deliver. So in about 30 sec. I went from a 5 to a 10. It took a while for Brison, Jen and I had to process the fact that it was go time. We were all shocked, it just happened so fast. It was 35 min. from start to finish before I was holding our baby girl on my chest. What an amazing feeling and experience. 24 hours later, we are home and enjoying the newest member to our family. Carson is doing so good with her and shows her so much love.

Camping Out
Looks like Rilee is just happy and content where she is at. I'm still half way thinned and no dilation, like I was the previous time I got checked (2 weeks ago). So the plan it to be patient, get my walk on, and continue to wait until the day she decides she wants to enter the world. Luckily my back is feeling a lot better so I'm not as anxious to get her out because of pain and being uncomfortable. I go back on Wed. and I guess we will see then where I stand. Ill keep ya all posted.
